Dr. Renee Stephens earned her Bachelor of Science degree Magna Cum Laude in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Gettysburg College and her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
What are the biggest changes you have seen in dentistry over the years?
I am lucky to have joined the dental profession at a time when there was, and still is, rapid growth of dental technology. Now there is even artificial intelligence in dentistry, which helps providers diagnose oral disease and can be used as a powerful tool for patient education.
What is your passion?
My passion is education, which goes hand-in-hand with delivering dental care. For example, if a patient does not understand why they have tooth decay and does not learn to address it with changes at home, then dental fillings for that patient won't have much value.
Why did you apply to Centerville Clinics?
I applied to join Centerville Clinics because I want to help improve access to care for patients who would otherwise have trouble finding the care they need.
What are you most proud of whether in your practice or personal life?
I am most proud of my patients who come in for their dental exams and treatment, even though they may feel nervous or embarrassed for not having received dental care in a long time.
