A graduate of Allegheny College and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Dr. Salopek completed his Family Practice Residency at Barberton Citizens Hospital, Barberton, Ohio.
How has COVID impacted your practice?
The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in the era of telemedicine at Centerville Clinics. I hope this change is here to stay, as it allows many patients to keep on top of their health care who might otherwise find it difficult to make it to in-person office visits.
What are the biggest changes you have seen in healthcare?
Probably the advent of the electronic medical record has been the biggest change during my career. Although we sometimes gripe about the data entry the EHR requires, it is a powerful tool that allows us to keep better track of our patients and their health care.
What is your passion?
Anything creative! Mainly I focus that energy into painting, drawing, acting in community theater, or entertaining my friends and family.
Why did you apply to Centerville Clinics?
My primary reason for becoming a physician was to serve the underserved, and Centerville Clinics gave me the opportunity to do that close to home.
What are you most proud of, whether in your practice or personal life?
I suppose I'm most proud that I've chosen and continued a career that allows me to live a life of service to others, in accordance with my faith in the teachings of Jesus Christ. I'm not perfect at it, but I've been persistent and I'm pleased with that.
