How has COVID impacted your practice?
Pre-pandemic we rarely worried about spreading infection to patients or patients infecting us. We used
standard precautions for everyone and special precautions for patients with cancer or tuberculosis, for
example. Now infection is a consideration in every visit. The pandemic isn't over, so I discuss vaccines with everyone who hasn't received them.
What are the biggest changes you have seen in healthcare?
Telemedicine has caused some shifting. It has made me value in-person visits even more. While increased flexibility can be nice, there's no replacement for sitting with someone for exam and counseling.
What is your passion?
Providing competent care and focusing on the one patient in front of me, one problem at a time.
Why did you apply to Centerville Clinics?
Centerville has so many services: Lab, Imaging, Behavioral Health, Dentistry, to name a few. All these team members make it easier for me to focus on my part for patients.
What are you most proud of, whether in your practice or personal life?
While playing U14 softball, I caught six games in one day in upper-90-degree heat and helped my team
advance to the national tournament.
