REVIEW USMeet Tara LeMaire, MD
Dr. Tara LeMaire earned an associate in science degree from Union University, a Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee State University, and a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Quillen College of Medicine at East Tennessee State University.
What are the biggest changes you have seen in healthcare over the years?
I have seen many changes in healthcare, since I began my career as a Registered Nurse in 1983, but the change with the most impact has been access to the internet. Patients can get more information, whether it is accurate or not, almost instantaneously. This has impacted the delivery of care dramatically. I think it is second only to the recent emphasis on patient satisfaction surveys over quality measures.
What is your passion?
In my profession, my passion is quality. I believe the quality of healthcare is rooted in education of our patients, maintenance of our medical training/knowledge, and frequent recurring assessments of the quality of care we provide. We should always be looking for ways to improve.
Why did you apply to Centerville Clinics?
I was interested in the opportunity to care for a population in need, with an organization focused on
quality over quantity. I have found this to be the case at Centerville Clinics.
What are you most proud of, personally or professionally?
Being an advocate for others. Whether it is our patients, loved ones, colleagues in healthcare, or anyone who is unable to speak for themselves, I believe individuals in positions of authority have an obligation not to abuse their power, as well as to speak out when others do.
